Little Blackbird Programme
The Man I want to become
Positive masculinity interventions
Aged 12 years plus
This very popular one day programme includes exploration of what Masculinity means and the difference between toxic and healthy masculinity.
We focus on social media, and how perceptions have evolved over the years, factors that may impact on toxic behaviour, and changing thought processes and reframing the age old notion that “You should just man up”. Utilising active exercises to explore emerging themes within each group, perceptions are explored and challenged withing a safe environment.
With the option to add an additional day to this programme, for providers who feel there is additional need within their setting, our Positive Masculinity Creative Film project enables more in depth exploration of emerging themes and trends. A professional film maker captures important discussions and active exercises during the programme. A film is then created, which is premiered at a later day with participants and any staff and parents who wish to attend. All young people involved receive a copy of the film to keep.
